As Andy Williams sang, it's the most wonderful time of the year: Nugget Nectar has hit Massachusetts, and it appears people are still crazy for it. Troegs Brewing Co. in Harrisburg, Pa., makes this imperial amber ale once a year, and it goes quickly. Massachusetts liquor stores began announcing today that Nugget Nectar is on their shelves, and some of them are implementing limits on how much customers can buy.

Here's a sampling of what liquor stores are posting to Twitter today:

Julio's Liquors in Westborough: "Tröegs’ Nugget Nectar Ale NOW AVAILABLE!! First come, first serve. No Holds or Phone Orders!"

Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont: "What a beauty! Tröegs Nugget Nectar has arrived. Get ready to get your hop on."

Redstone Liquors in Stoneham: "Just in: Tröegs Nugget Nectar 6pks (limit 3 cases per customer) sorry no holds."

Redstone Liquors, 25 minutes later: "Sorry guys have to change limit of [Nugget Nectar] to one case each."

Hype? No, it's an outstanding beer. Here's something I wrote about it a year ago. Now, go get some Nugget Nectar, but leave some for me.
