President Barack Obama brews his own beer. We've known that for quite some time. He served his own beer at a White House Super Bowl party in 2011, and he's been seen with his home-brewed beer acting as something of a prop on the campaign trail.

Eager beer geeks are clamoring for the recipe to Obama's White House Honey Ale, brewed with honey from Michelle Obama's garden on the south lawn. The release of the recipe would allow other homebrewers to brew and serve the same beer as the president.

A Freedom of Information Act request was filed for the release of the recipe. The problem is that the White House is not subject to Freedom of Information requests. A formal petition is now circulating via the administration's "We the People" website. The goal of the petition is 25,000 signatures. At the time of this posting some 1,838 signatures had been collected.

Care enough to see the recipe? Sign the petition. If enough signatures are gathered something may happen. Power to the people.
