Clown Shoes Beer, the Ipswich brewers known for tasty beer with fun labels, are hosting a beer festival with a twist this weekend. In addition to a tasting featuring local beers and beers from Texas, there are Greek-themed games involved. Prizes will be awarded for the winners, and gifts will be given out to anyone wearing a toga. If that doesn't sound like enough fun, there will also be jugglers, a contortionist, human statues, beer poetry readings, and live music.

The event takes place at the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly this Saturday, Sept. 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds from this events to benefit Pints for Prostate. Go here to buy tickets.

Two new Clown Shoes beers are currently in stores and will be available at the festival. The first is Let My People Go, a malty pale ale. The second is a collaboration with Three Heads Brewing out of N.Y. called Third Party Candidate. That beer is an imperial amber, and I had some myself last night. It's delicious.
