The Red Robin burger chain has come out with a milkshake spiked with Samuel Adams Octoberfest beer. You know, because beer and dairy go so well together.

beer-float.jpg"Nothing says Oktoberfest better than a beer, so I incorporated the fun spirit of Red Robin into this innovative milkshake," Donna Ruch, master mixologist with Red Robin, told Fox News. "Now, our guests don't have to choose between a beer or a shake to go with their burger. They can have the very best of both in our new Octoberfest Milkshake."

Beer floats are not unheard of. Picco in the South End makes a delicious float with Left Hand Milk Stout. To weigh in for a moment on the Red Robin shake as a beer critic, the malty-sweet caramel flavor of the Octoberfest probably goes well with the milkshake. You wouldn't want to do this with an IPA.

What do you think? Do you like a little beer with your milkshake?
