If you're going to go to a fundraiser, you might as well go to a fun one. You can help raise money for the ALS Therapy Development Institute with a fundraising event Saturday in Essex.

Here are the details:
Saturday, October 6th - Noon to 5 p.m.
Waterline Center at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum
Essex, Mass.

The event is a homebrew-judging contest between some great local brewers. The winning beer will be brewed by the Haverill Brewery. The brewers are:

Micah Nyatsambo -- Dover, N.H. -- Scottish Ale with American Hops
Tim Broderick -- Hamilton -- Chocolate Stout
Fuzzy Faulstich -- Beverly -- Porter
Alastair Hewitt -- Wakefield -- Pilsner
Tim Cavanaugh & Ryan Veno -- Boston, & Exeter, NH -- Smoked Maple Porter
Jason Spanks -- Gloucester-- Rye Stout
Jake Rogers -- Ipswich-- Berlinerweisse
Jason Grazado -- Marblehead -- Sorachi Ace Saison

Food will be provided by Woodman's of Essex, the Village Restaurant, Iggy's Bread, and by other local supporters.

You can go here for more information.
