Sunset Grill and Tap to host Dogfish Head Ancient Ales event

Sunset Grill and Tap in Allston is hosting a "tasting and mixer" featuring Dogfish Head Brewery on Tues., Oct. 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event is a buffet of tasting plates of food cooked with beer, specifically Dogfish Head Ancient Ales. Here's the menu:

-- Aztec chicken and sweet corn croquettes with spicy red pepper sauce
Recommended with Dogfish Head La Tahenket

-- Ale-steamed mussels on the half shell with baby shrimp and 3-color tomato salsa with chipotle aioli drizzle
Recommended with Dogfish Head Sah'tea

-- Grilled jalapeno buttered corn bread topped with beer-b-q pulled pork, cilantro aioli and pickled okra
Recommended with Dogfish Head Theobroma

-- Pumpkin ravioli in a pumpkin ale and sage maitre d’butter sauce with sweet corn, spinach, sun-dried cranberries, and red onions
Recommended with Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu

-- Roasted apple and banana empanadas with a spiced ale dolce de leche sauce with cinnamon sugar
Recommended with Dogfish Head Midas Touch

-- Finale: Dogfish Head 2011 World Wide Stout and a nitecap of Dansk Viking Blod Mead

The event is $60 per person. Call event coordinator Jake Tringali at 617-254-1331 for tickets.
