Tired of the election? Of course you are. Step away from the news cycle for a moment (you might also want to log off of Facebook) and enjoy some great pizza and beer tonight at Area Four in Kendall Square, Cambridge.

As part of Area Four's bi-weekly football pregame event, the restaurant tonight is pouring Idle Hands’ Pandora Ale paired with Banh Mi Pizza, infused with flavors of the iconic sandwich and made especially for pairing with the medium-bodied brews. You pay $10 at the door for a pint and slices of pizza. Sounds like a good deal to me. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., meaning you can still run elsewhere and catch Monday Night Football.

By the way, I'm back from my 10-day hiatus, made into a two-week hiatus because of Sandy. Made out fine though. What did I miss? E-mail me (gdzen@boston.com) and start a conversation. Follow me on Twitter. Cheers.
