Fans at TD Garden pay the 3d-highest prices for beer in the NBA, according to a recent survey by Business Insider.

The average cost of a small draft beer at a Celtics game is $8, according to data provided by the team. That cost ties the Celtics with the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards for 3d-most expensive beer. Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks fans pay the most for their beer, $9 on average.

The average cost of a small draft beer across the NBA this season is $7.08, up 1.7 percent from last season.

On a side note, this may be the first time I've ever combined my coverage areas, beer and the Celtics, into one blog post. As a public service announcement, if you're going to spend money for beer at a Celtics game, spend it on one from local brewer Notch Brewing, or on a Sierra Nevada, Harpoon, or Samuel Adams.
