Longtime Meritage executive chef Daniel Bruce is renowned for his ability to create dishes that echo the flavors and aromas of individual wines in ways that are frankly uncanny. This summer, the chef's incandescent skills are on display in a series of Thursday night tasting events at the Rowe's Wharf restaurant. Wine selections are drawn from the Rowe's Wharf restaurant's 12,000 bottle cellar and chosen by its talented young curator, Betsy Ross, left.

Each tasting features three to four wines and accompanying small bites, created and fine-tuned by Chef Bruce. Themes include "A trip along the Russian River" and "Exploring terroir with pinot noir."

The cost for each session is a very reasonable $25. Start time is 5.30. For more information, call the restaurant at 617-439-3995.
