Ice Cream Showdown This Sunday
Happy weekend! Got any big plans? Island Creek Oyster Festival, maybe? That's where I'll be all day. Tomorrow there's another big food event going down, and with plenty of tickets left I might add. If you're free Sunday, stop by the third annual Ice Cream Showdown, an ice cream fundraising party on the Charles featuring Boston's best ice cream makers. The roster hasn't been finalized, but the current contenders include Coop's Microcreamery, Batch, Giovanna Gelato e Sorbet, Christina's Homemade Ice Cream, Toscanini's, Picco, and The Chilly Cow. Yup, ice cream heaven. Eat Boston is putting on the event, and their track record speaks for itself. Remember the Bacon and Beer Festival, Boston Lobster Party, Guacaholics Anonymous and all the pop-up restaurants? All them. All delicious.
The event is from 4pm - 6pm at Community Boating. 8 bucks gets you way more ice cream than you can eat and it benefits Community Servings and Lovin' Spoonfuls. They save a ton of tickets for day of, so don't worry about the event selling out. Maybe i'll see you there!
