Lunch at Mei Mei Street Kitchen (Plus Their Planned Brick & Mortar Expansion!)

After trying some of Mei Mei's food at this year's Taste of the Nation event, I sought out their truck ASAP. That day they served a fantastic savory bread pudding and I had been hearing endless praise for their Double Awesome scallion pancake egg sandwich. (I know, right.) The sandwich lived up to its name to say the least, and everything else we tried that day was equally awesome. Behold...
The Double Awesome - Two Slow Poached Eggs Sandwiched in a Scallion Pancake with Local Greens, Pesto and Vermont Cheddar
Smoked Cheddar Fritters topped with Sriracha Miso Mayo
The Fat Schantz (v.1) - Scallion Pancake with Braised Beef, Potato Salad, and Appleland mutsu apples.
The Mei Mei crew is in the process of opening a brick and mortar location in Audobon circle, and they are using Kickstarter to help raise funds to allocate towards their sustainable restaurant certification. Watch the video below or visit their Kickstarter page for more info.
