Don't drop dead
Designer Greg Van Boven, who was the subject of a magazine story I wrote last month, lives with his partner David Beck in the most charming house. Van Boven and Beck entertain all the time, they told me, using an alcove on the bottom floor of their Beacon Hill house as a dining room. A banquette is against one wall, a fireplace on the other, and an antique mirror reflects the candles they always light. Here are scenes from their last dinner party.

As I said, pretty nice, huh?
