16 sushi restaurants?!

Jessica Scarpati over at the Brookline TAB reports that applications have been filed for a new Japanese restaurant called Bon, to be located in the former B&D Deli spot.

The headline: B&D Deli site may become the town's 16th sushi restaurant

How do I love sushi? Many more than 16 ways. But I still think Brookline doesn't need another sushi restaurant! OK, it won't be strictly sushi -- the restaurant's lawyer says it will be "high-end, contemporary Japanese cuisine," with entrees priced between $31 and $40, Scarpati writes. But what happened to the whole variety being the spice of the life thing?
