Creamy, rich, and now tinier

Land O'Lakes is now offering one-pound boxes with eight individually wrapped sticks of butter. A regular stick is now divided in half to make two. The publicity information sent out says this: "Changing demographics and time-starved U.S. consumers have prompted Land O'Lakes to offer a new stick configuration."
I think "changing demographics" means that people aren't putting a stick of butter on the dinner table anymore, and fewer bakers turn their attention to buttery projects. But "time-starved?" Is it that much trouble to take an eight-tablespoon stick and cut it in half? Then slip the half you're not using into a little zipper bag and pop it into the freezer?
