Dept. of wedding excess
Dessert Works of Norwood is now offering tiny look-alike wedding cakes, which they're calling "Honeymoon Cake."
“We often hear from brides and grooms that their guests loved the cake, but they themselves were so busy that they didn’t get to try it themselves,” says owner Kristen Repa. So the couple can take this cake home and savor it or save it for their first year anniversary.
The little one looks silly beside the big one. Frankly, the idea is a little silly, too.

That's a little harsh! I think it is cute - I can't say I would want it (heck, I even passed on having a cake for my own wedding)... but if you are going to put the spotlight on a product here on these pages, I might refrain from such snarky comments to a purveyor who (presumably) works in earnest. It sounds a little Perez Hilton low-brow to me.
I think it's silly too. Why not have the caterer save a tier or a piece of a tier for you? That's what we did. We took the frosting off, wrapped it in plastic and foil, stored it in the freezer, and our baker even re-frosted it for our first anniversary for free as part of the service.
