More good bread coming here

This is When Pigs Fly co-owner Andrew Siegel in their Somerville location. The Maine-based bread company, which offers delicious and dense loaves, is opening in Brookline soon, a few blocks west of Coolidge Corner on the outbound side. If they're on schedule, they'll open the doors on June 1.

As they do for the Somerville location, everything will be baked in York daily, says Siegel, and trucked to Boston. They'll also carry oils, vinegars, and their new signature item, bread pudding cakes (small sizes serve three or four) in lemon-blueberry, chocolate, and other flavors.

Pigs Fly is also making cookies for the first time, which will be kosher. A baking room separate from the rest of the shop will be kosher dairy and kosher parve (parve means the baked goods can go with a meat or dairy meal).

Please do not buy the last low-carb whole wheat loaf before I get there. My local Whole Foods is always out of it and pays no attention to customer demand.

  1. Oils?! I promise not to buy the last low-carb whole wheat if you tell me there's a garlic-infused oil coming my way!
