Roadhouse Craft Beer & BBQ in Brookline: opening soon

Posted by Devra First August 25, 2008 11:42 AM

Barbecue fans have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Roadhouse in Washington Square, Brookline. (It's from the folks who brought you the Publick House, so you know the beer will be good.) I've gotten more inquiries about this restaurant opening than any other in recent memory. Bostonians love their 'cue!

If you've walked by and smelled tempting aromas, it's because the Roadhouse crew has been testing the custom-built pit smoker. Proprietor David Ciccolo says they're putting finishing touches on the place this week.

So when will it open?

The plan is Sept. 3, with a soft opening Sept. 2. Call to confirm before you go.

  1. The wait was terrible, not only for a table but for the food as well. 45 minutes for a bowl of chili and a cup of corn chowder. then another hour for the main course. the fried chicken arrived soggy and the pork ribs arrived cold. the ribs were taken away to be fired up but never returned for 20 minutes. However, after all that wait, one bite of the ribs was enough. the pork tasted like a bottle of lighter fluid had been poured directly on the meat. If they even have a real smoker, the Roadhouse has got to season it more to eliminate the metallic flavor. I did not even say yet that only half of the seating was made available for opening night. I cannot even imagine such a struggling staff trying to handle a truly full restaurant.

Beer menu is similar if not same to publick house. no problem there. place looks great outside and inside.
