"L" is for "lives on"

Restaurant L is back at Louis Boston. After an ill-fated stint as Boston Public Meat, the restaurant is rising again, with chef Marc Orfaly at the helm.

The concept: the best from Pigalle, Marco, and the Summer House, the restaurants Orfaly's connected to.

Things are happening fast. It's to open in 3-4 weeks, in time for the holiday shoppers.

As for Louis, the store is leaving its Newbury Street building when the lease expires in 2010. Guess that's too far away to worry about in these uncertain times.

More news to come about the concept and the food.

(By the way, here's a link to my review of Boston Public whatever-you-wanna-call-it from September last year. Note that it contains the lines "'President Kucinich' just doesn't have that American leader ring. So when opening a new restaurant, or revamping an old one, the name is key." Looks like I didn't see President Obama coming.)
