Service at the Buttery
I was just reading over readers' comments on today's review of the Buttery Bar + Bistro.
I'm struck by how many people have had bad experiences with the service there. As I note in the review, the staff during the day is not always helpful and attentive. But I really did find the nighttime staff to be friendly. So friendly I was surprised, as I detailed here after my first meal at the new bistro. I am not a fan of the Buttery by day, when I'm often met with attitude. I'd rather go to Flour or Uptown Espresso.

Maybe the posters are also commenting on daytime service (the review was specifically about the nighttime bistro, not the daytime cafe). But between these comments and those on Yelp, it's clear service is an issue for many at the Buttery.
Not that it has any shortage of customers as is. Maybe it's a population-control tactic.

I go to the Buttery for coffee and a croissant a couple of times a week and have never experienced an attitude issue. On the contrary, the barista greets me with a smile and makes one of the best double lattes I've had in the city.
