A taxing deadline

If you get a newsletter from your local spirits store, you've probably already been reminded that on August 1, the Massachusetts state sales tax not only goes up to 6.25 percent, it begins applying to alcohol sales. A couple of the wine and beer shops I frequent are suggesting that customers should stock up now. Not a bad idea, considering that a $10 dollar six-pack of beer or bottle of plonk will cost you an extra 62.5 cents in a couple of weeks.

  1. I live in Chelmsford, so every time I need beer or wine I'm going to Nashua... That's a fact. I will order clothes online and send it to my parents' house in NH. I will not pay it
