While the use of wireless devices is the worst distraction behind the wheel - which is why you are prohibited from texting while driving if youre a federal worker or in the military - its not the only one. Chatting with passengers, fiddling with the radio, and smoking are all potential risk factors cited by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. So are eating and drinking.
To help us keep our mind on our driving and our hands on the wheel, as the old song goes, a Michigan insurance company, Hagerty Classic Insurance, has ranked the worst foods to eat in the car. At the top of the list? The morning gotta-have-it cup. Obviously, eating cereal with milk isnt on their radar.
