Broccoli is often tasteless, so I have always left broccolini to languish
under the spray mister. My loss. Invented in 1993 by Japans
Sakata Seed (and disastrously marketed as Aspabroc) its a hybrid
of the Chinese green kai-lan and broccoli. The pleasantly
bitter flavor suggests broccoli rabe and dandelion greens. Saute
with garlic and slice over pasta.
