FRESH FROMAGE BLANC, Foxborough

Foxboro Cheese Company’s soft, fresh, white cheese is made in small batches and blends a cream cheese-like texture with a slightly acidic taste similar to sour cream’s. The milk for the cheese comes from the 29 Ayrshire cows on the Lawton family farm, which has been around since 1830. $8 for 8 ounces at The Old Barn at Lawton Farm, 70 North Street, Foxborough, 508-543-6460, http://www.lawtonsfamilyfarm.com; $5.98 at A. Russo & Sons, 560 Pleasant Street, Watertown, 617-923-1500, http://www.russos.com; $6.99 at Verrill Farm, 11 Wheeler Road, Concord, 978-369-4494, http://www.verrillfarm.com
