Rodgers's ideal running conditions? "Sunny, no wind, 62 degrees, low humidity."
Monday's forecast? A slight chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 51.
For colder marathon runs, Rodgers suggests wearing a wool hat and warm clothes that you can shed at the start of the race or along the route. You can also enlist your friends to pick up any discarded clothing and wait with dry clothes along the course.
At right, Rodgers (#1) heeded his own advice by wearing a knit hat in the rainy 1979 Boston Marathon.
