Toys were transformed
The mid-'80s was prime time for The Transformers (left). These toy machines quickly gained popularity with children, a phenomenon that branched out to comic books, television and even a recent movie. The line of toys, first introduced by Hasbro in 1984, eventually found themselves sharing shelf space alongside classic toys like Cabbage Patch Kids, Barbie and G.I. Joe.
