Use a space heater
In some homes, or more specifically, apartments where central heating may not be practical, space heaters can be used. If you're only looking to heat one room, space heaters can deliver warmth at a fraction of the cost of oil or gas. Space heaters, which often just run on electricity can also eliminate the risk of overheating a home and wasting otherwise needed heating oil.
