"This event is part of an international effort to spread awareness of the need for cooperative intergovernmental action to stem climate change," according to the website of the Global Warming Education Network, which organized the event. "It is scheduled midway through the United Nations Climate talks that are taking place in Poland from December 1 to 12, 2008."
