Looking for a new water bottle? A new baby bottle?

This slideshow may help you out. Let us know if it's useful. By the way, here's a link to the recent Q&A on the bisphenol A by Globe environmental reporter Beth Daley and "Baby's Toxic Bottle'' author Mia Davis, from Clean Water Action, a Boston-based advocacy group.

  1. I have a water bottle with a recycle symbol with "PC" in the middle, not a number like "7" or "5." With the recent BPA concerns can you tell me if what the "PC" recycle symbol means??

  1. SIGG is lined with an epoxy that SIGG refuses to say what it is made from. There has only been one test done on SIGG paid for by the company. Until SIGG comes clean about the ingredients of the lining, I would assume it is not safe. Transparancy is the hallmark of a green company - give SIGG a miss.

  1. With paper, "PC" stands for Post-Consumer, but I'm not sure about plastics?

  1. PC stands for PolyCarbonate... polycarbonate contains Bisphenol-A as an main part of the chemistry to make the plastick tough, pliable and see-through
