I have really high hopes for Boston becoming a biking city. I would love it, personally, but the city has to have alternatives to cars. Here's hoping the Bike Czar will succeed in making the changes we need to have a decent biking city.
I regularly cycle to work and was initially excited about the Mayor appointing a "Bike Czar" - however, in the almost one year that's past I've seen not one improvement for bikers. At minimum, it would be nice to have more options for parking and locking one's bike. Especially as I've been told that it's illegal to lock your bike to a meter or street sign on the sidewalk.
