In one town, fuel costs lead to power rate hike

The town of Holden is raising its electric bill 2 cents per kilowatt hour because of higher fuel costs, likely a portent for people living in other communities with municipal light companies.

The cost will average $7.50 a month more for residential customers, said officials, who note that the rate is still far below that charged by National Grid and other private companies.
