Landlocked on World Oceans Day?

Today is the United Nations first official World Oceans Day. And it couldn't come at a more critical time: Enormous fish declines to ocean acidification to pollution are threatening enormous swaths of sea.

First created in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro – but officially recognized only this year by the U.N. - the day is designed for people to learn about the 70 percent of the world many rarely see. For all the landlubbers unable to get to salt water today here is a primer:
