All the rich food on the Thanksgiving table can often be hard to pass up. So while we aren't going to tell you not to indulge in your mother's awesome sweet potato casserole, we will help you make some other simple swaps that will save you some extra calories. We asked Kathy McManus, director of nutrition at Brigham and Women's Hospital for a few tips to make the holiday easier on your waist.
“Holidays are a special time to celebrate with family, friends and food. Some traditional holiday treats come just once a year. So go ahead and enjoy them. Just be sure to be mindful, savor what you are eating, and enjoy the treats in small portions," McManus said.
