The hinge mechanism on the Phill&Teds strollers pose a potential fingertip amputation risk, causing the stroller company to recall two versions of the popular buggies.

The hazard, identified in the "sport v2" and "classic v1" models, comes when the stroller is folded or unfolded. Approximately 22,000 models were sold in the United States.

According to Health Canada, the company has received three reports in the United States of parents catching their fingers in the main hinge of their strollers.

Phil&Teds is offering a free hinge cover to remedy the problem, and consumers are urged to contact the company for more information.
