Before undergoing a double mastectomy, breast cancer patient Dr. Deborah Cohan shimmied in her surgical gown with her operating room team to Beyonce’s “Get Me Bodied”at UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion in San Francisco, Calif.
Cohan, who is also an ob-gyn at UCSF, was surrounded by her dancing friends who filmed the joyous six-minute-long pre-surgery dance party. It was uploaded to YouTube and has since gone viral over the past two days, making last night’s evening news and Good Morning America this morning.
“Nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies. Are you with me people?” wrote Cohan in her CaringBridge.org post several days before the surgery dance.
