Peter J. Healy will be the new chief executive officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, leaving his post as a chief administration office and vice president at Boston Medical Center, where he has worked for the past eight years. He starts in his new role in August.
Healy replaces Joseph Morrissey, who stepped down in December after a decade as the hospital’s top executive.
“Peter is an experienced and committed health care executive with an impressive track record of successful leadership,” Michael Brady, chairman of the hospital board, said in a press release.
Healy praised the Milton facility’s model as “a well-positioned community hospital” with ties to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Boston teaching hospital.
Healy, who lives in Westwood, has a master’s degree in health care administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Prior to his work at Boston medical Center, Healy worked at Faulkner Hospital for 15 years.
