During my junior year of college, I lived in the South, but I never went line dancing. While I'm a bit of a klutz when it comes to performing choreographed moves to music, I think line dancing would be fun to try for a few reasons.
First, dancing is a great way to burn calories. Second, I bet my ungraceful way on the dance floor would be good for a few giggles. And lastly, I bet it's a great way to meet new and interesting folks.
If you're interested in trying it, the Waltham YMCA offers a line dancing class. You don't need to be a dance pro to try it.
However, since the class runs several weeks, you must sign up in advance. If you are a YMCA member, you can sign up on April 27; if you're non-member sign up begins May 8. This round of line dancing classes will run for five weeks starting May 21 and lasts until June 23.
If you try it, let me know. Maybe I'll see you there!
