Once again we caught up with NESN's Jenny Dell to check in on her progress as her 9K Run to Home Base race approached.

Here's my Q&A with Dell about her training, and how she felt before her big run.

How many steps are you averaging a day?
I am averaging roughly 11,000 steps a day.

How is the training going? Do you feel ready?
It’s been a crazy few weeks. The Red Sox are currently on a 20-game stretch, which means I am on a 20-game stretch. The majority of the games have been at night, so I try and get my run in some time in the morning before heading to the ballpark. I have to admit, I have been slacking a bit, but I know the motivation of being surrounded by all the runners and walkers on Sunday will be inspiring. (Plus, I have TC to cheer me on!) I am not worried!

Have you set a step goal for yourself each day?
Originally my goal was to take at least 10,000 steps a day. I am raising it to 15,000 today!

What exercise have you done today?
I didn’t get home from Tropicana Field until after midnight last night. Since I am in Tampa, and the sun is shining, I decided to take my workout to the pool! I’ve always found swimming laps to be a great workout.

What was on your playlist?
The hotel we are staying at has music playing by the pool. While I would prefer some hip-hop, the relaxing spa music is surprisingly motivating.

What’s your favorite type of exercise?
Anything active (and preferably outside). I would much rather go on a hike or run around a park than run on a treadmill or use the elliptical in the gym. I really enjoy taking group exercise classes … Zumba, kickboxing, pilates ... the list goes on and on. Also, one of my favorite activities is dance. I grew up taking dance and that in itself is a serious workout and can keep you in shape.
