You all are kicking some serious tail. I mean, really. From the feedback I get via this blog, to chats on Twitter, and our Facebook page, you all are just crushing getting fit.
It is truly awesome.
To that end, I wanted to share with you some stats from our ongoing Hometown Wellness Showdown, because they are just too impressive to keep to myself.
Two weeks into our challenge, people have burned 3,160,852 calories, earned 216,196 points, and lost 1,284 pounds, according to the folks at Lose It.
Like I said, you really know how to stick with fitness. And, you're not afraid to share your progress with me, which I take as a huge compliment.
You all know how to reach me, and many of you regularly e-mail me your progress updates, stories, and kind words of encouragement. I love it. This blog is as much for you as it is me. And every once in a while, one of your notes just makes me wonder why everyone in my life can't be as awesome as you all. Here's the note:
I just wanted to thank you for posting your blog. I started following you back in the spring when I decided to get off of the couch and lose weight. I, like you, wanted to lose 50 pounds and I hated running. I started running and you know what, I really love it now. Having never ran in a race before, I just ran my first 10K this weekend and it was a great feeling. I have now lost almost 60 pounds and feel great. I am now looking to run a half marathon next spring. Good luck on your half marathon. I will continue reading of your successes.

If that doesn't make me want to lace up my sneakers and go on a run with a bunch of my readers I don't know what would. You all have done more than I ever knew was possible. Keep it up, we're counting on you.
