No other "advanced" nation would dare treat its citizens this way.

calebmedley.jpg23 year old Caleb Medley is still alive, a victim of last week's Colorado shooting massacre, he took a bullet to his eye that caused brain damage; he now in a medically-induced coma at the University of Colorado Hospital. His wife, Katie, was expecting their first child two days later -- she delivered on Tuesday. Caleb, an aspiring comic and has no health insurance. He and his family are now facing medical bills estimated at $2 million, according to CBS News.

Here's a link to a website where you can make a donation to help Caleb and his family.  I did.

Here's another thing you can do: remember, next time Mitt Romney talks about how he will "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act/ObamaCare (with no replacement in sight), that if fully implemented in 2014, the ACA guarantees that no American citizen will have to go through the second assault Caleb is now facing because of our nation's despicable health insurance system.

If Mitt succeeds in repealing the ACA, it's only a matter of time before Caleb's story is repeated in the next massacre.

Maybe the National Rifle Association should start a line of health insurance people can buy if they are uninsured and the victim of a shooting massacre.  Hey, why take risks?

(CORRECTION: An earlier version stated that Caleb worked at WalMart at the time of the shooting.  That was incorrect.)
