Nature in flight
Vladimir Barsukov has a Ph.D. in physics and mathematics, and has taught calculus, applied mathematics, and physics. The Cambridge resident also teaches folks how to make mobiles. Does this sound unusual? Well, Barsukov is fascinated with "beautiful and functional objects that rely on basic principles of mechanics and geometry," and he shows off his fascination at "Kinetic Abstracts" in Cambridge. Perpetual Mobiles are crafted from copper, brass, silver, gold, stained glass, seashells, agate, and other natural materials. Among the 26 pieces in the show is the lovely copper and brass "Pegasus."
