DEALS FOR DAD'S DAY
Father's Day is approaching, and gift questions loom large: Will it be some new Patriots gear, some time on the golf course, or a nice meal out this year? Starting Monday, BuyWithMe.com's Deal-a-Day-For-Dad will help you do it all. A different deal will be posted on the group-buying site each day next week (from merchants including Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, the Patriots Pro Shop, the barber-spa 379 Club in Allston, and Alta Strada restaurant in Wellesley); so long as enough people sign on (by clicking "Count Me In!"), you'll all get the discount. Shreve, Crump & Low's Father's Day Sale, running until June 21, includes watches, cuff links, money clips, and more at 20-50 percent off. Among the handsome gifts we spotted were an antique map crystal clock by Maine decoupage artist Scott Potter (originally $116, now $92.80) and a cherry-stained wooden Fenway Park desk box with brass touches for $88 (originally $110). Shreve, Crump & Low is at 440 Boylston St., Boston, 617-267-9100. www.shrevecrumpandlow.comON NEWBURY STREET
The spring/summer sale at Serenella, with discounts of 30-50 percent on select items, is bringing the boutique's stellar wares more firmly within our clutches. A pale yellow Moschino cotton blouse, with a hint of a sleeve that dissolves into a rose, is now $440 (originally $625). At the higher end, a knock-out Roberto Cavalli black halter dress, with jersey top, organza skirt, sequins, and caviar beading, is $3,245 (originally $6,490). Our favorite: the Joey McMakin mules with yellow python, mocha patent leather, and Lucite detail for $470 (were $670). When we're in Brookline Village, we like browsing the jewelry at the Gateway Crafts Store, particularly the lovingly made earrings. A sidewalk sale on Saturday will include jewelry as well as silk scarves, woven rugs, ceramics, folk art, note cards, toys, and other store items at 25-75 percent off original prices. (Sales benefit the talented artists with disabilities at the nonprofit Gateway Arts.) The sidewalk sale is part of a longer-running sale at the crafts store, with discounts of 25 percent and more until July 31. The Gateway Crafts Store is at 60 Harvard St., Brookline, 617-734-1577. www.gatewayarts.orgHIP MARKDOWNS
Diesel has marked down lots of its hip duds just in time for summer. A broad swath of T-shirts, sweatshirts, button-downs, shorts, and jeans was 30-50 percent off when we stopped in, and we hear more markdowns are expected. We considered a breezy, open-sleeved houndstooth and white top for $35 (originally $50), and couldn't help thinking the cushy black hoodies might serve us well five months from now (bargain hunters do plan ahead, after all). Diesel is at 339 Newbury St., Boston, 617-424-6555. www.diesel.comGot an idea for Bargain Bin? Send it to ami.albernaz@gmail.com. ![]()
