Though its 100th birthday was earlier this year, Filene's Basement is now getting around to celebrating its centennial with a series of special offers. Tomorrow, Saturday, and Oct. 31st, the first 100 people through the door will receive a gift card worth $10, and from tomorrow until Nov. 1st, all men's suits will be $50-$200 off. From Nov. 1st until Nov. 7th, stores will be collecting entries to win a gift card worth $1,909 (the store's founding year). Check www.filenesbasement.com for other centennial deals. Filene's Basement is at 497 Boylston St., Boston, 617-424-5520, and 215-227 Needham St., Newton, 617-332-1295. Find a complete list of locations on the website. Deal of the Week

Yes, T.J. Maxx has a new store in Newton. And yes, its runway section has $1,300 Ralph Lauren dresses. But for a small treat for ourselves (or, since that time is quickly approaching, a stocking stuffer), we liked the Braciano laminated wallets (near the runway section, toward the front of the store), braciano.jpg which come in funky retro patterns. A few, with their blend of brown, reds, and golds, have a bit of an Orla Kiely flavor. The wallets are $9.99 (compare at $18). The Newton T.J. Maxx is at 260 Needham St., 617-527-0401. www.tjmaxx.com
