Matsu's farewell
After a 15-year run, Newbury Street boutique Matsu will be closing its doors on Oct. 16th. The store is now running its final sale, with steep markdowns on remaining items including clothing and home accessories; pretty pieces from Majestic, Inhabit, Comme des Garçons, and others were marked down 40 percent when we stopped in. Owner Dava Muramatsu will continue selling her jewelry line, Nymph, after the store closes; select pieces are marked down 20 percent in-store. A final in-store event, with energy healer and author Wendy De Rosa, will be held on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Matsu is at 264 Newbury St., Boston, 617-266-9707.
