Newton Highlands hosts its Holiday Stroll and Sing-a-Long on Friday from 5-9 p.m. Shops will offer discounts, gifts, kids' activities, refreshments, and more. Here's a rundown of what's planned (thanks to Jo-Ann Freedman of Limited Editions and Annabelle Ship of Green Planet Kids):
-- Bread & Chocolate: Grilled cheese and tomato soup social from 5-7:30 to benefit the Newton Food Pantry. Donate five cans and get a soup and sandwich supper for only $5; donate 10 cans and get your supper for free. (Or purchase the meal for $10, and $5 will be donated to the food pantry.
-- Village Kids: $10-gift certificates with any purchase of $20 or more.
-- Green Planet Kids: Photos with Santa from 6-8:00 p.m.; holiday crafts at The Art Loft on the 2nd level; $10-gift certificate giveaway to the first 50 families who stop in starting at 6 p.m. 5% of all sales will be donated to a local school.
-- Newton House of Pizza: 99 cent-slices from 5-9 p.m.
-- Davis Hairdressing: $20-wash and blow dry with select stylists from 5-8 p.m. Limited appointments available; call to book.
-- SalonCapri: $25-blow dry from 7-9 p.m. and a gift bag of products.
-- Limited Editions: 25 percent off all Jeanine Payer jewelry, raffle for $50-gift certificate, refreshments.
-- 51 Lincoln: Free hot mulled cider
--Walnut Market: Wine tasting; $14.99 bottle of wine for only $3.99 with any $20 purchase
-- Rox Cafe: Free mini hot chocolate for kids
-- Evesso Coffee: 99 cent coffee
