As I'll be on vacation for the rest of the week, I leave you with three things to consider over the next few days: Spa Week rolls back into town next Monday, with $50-treatments at a host of area spas, salons, and skin-care outfits. If you're near Hanover, Charles David Salon & Spa is offering a free wash and style with one of its Spa Week treatments. The week officially ends Oct. 17th, though at least a few of the spas will be extending their deals.

National Jean Company starts its Columbus Day sale on Wednesday, with 25 percent off everything (including items already on sale) in the Newton and Wellesley stores. Brands include Hudson, Paige, J Brand, and Citizens of Humanity, along with Elizabeth and James, Splendid, Vince, and many others. The sale will run through next Monday. Any of the services comes with a free "smoky eye" makeup application and complimentary mocktails. Appointments are suggested, but not required. Meanwhile, in cyberspace, skincare and cosmetics site Love Hue has markdowns now on select products from Becca, NVEY, Zhen Beauty, and others. The sale lasts until the goods are gone.

If the skin's in need of a little TLC, your remedy may lie in the South End: The recently opened "spatique" Skoah (it's actually an outpost of a popular Vancouver-based skincare shop) is offering one of its facials and a few goodies for 15 percent off through the end of the month. For $145, you get the "fitskin" facial (cleansing, toning, exfoliation, two masques, and arm-and-hand and neck-and-shoulder massages, all packed into an hour) along with a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer to take home. Even in these lean times, $25 isn't so bad for a night out. Especially if it'll get you free mini-beauty treatments, massages and a bag of goodies at the end of the evening. There aren't too many details on the website, but I'm told the all-important swag bags will include products from KISS Nails, KIND Health Bars, CoolOff, Rescue Remedy, and assorted beauty samples. Ever wonder if there might be a better way to get dolled up? If so, Rouge Cosmetics is offering free mini-makeup lessons Sundays through Thursdays until the end of the month to celebrate its third anniversary. (Appointments must be booked in advance.) Lessons are tailored to what you would like to learn; although they're "mini," plan on being there around an hour. You can now add to your daily browsing The DealMap, which aggregates current and soon-to-be-offered deals from Groupon, Goldstar, Eversave, and Restaurant.com, along with discounts from individual stores. Deals are searchable by zip code or city, and though you might find a few repeats (the site is brand new), the variety is broad (discounts on theater and comedy club tickets, self-storage, acupuncture). Those who share deals on the site get points toward gift certificates and freebies.

A couple of deals for you today: First, George's Shoe Store and sister store Benton Shoe Company kick off a "Made in Italy" event tomorrow, with pumps, sandals, ballet flats, and other summer styles valued at up to $435 priced at $29-$75. With Mother's Day just a few days away, the Lands' End Shop at Sears in Natick is hosting a moms' night out tomorrow night with free mini-manicures and massages, expert makeup applications, and more. A Lands' End stylist will be on hand to offer swimsuit style tips and host fittings. There will also be drawings and tote bags filled with goodies for the first 150 guests. The John Frieda Style on Site Tour rolls into Boston this Friday until Sunday, offering free 15-minute hair consultations and styling sessions out of a specially outfitted 18-wheeler stationed at The Shops at the Prudential Center's Boylston Plaza. Harry Josh, whose worked the locks of Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and Gisele Bundchen, leads the styling team; appointments are made on a first-come, first-serve basis, and after the consultation, visitors will walk away with a "prescription" for Frieda products best-suited to their mane (and available at a drugstore.com kiosk). BCBG, a co-sponsor of the tour, will have a mini-boutique displaying merchandise exclusive to the tour; visitors to the mobile salon will be able to shop the boutique through kiosks with a special discount. On Sunday, visitors may opt to make a $25-donation to John Frieda's HAIRraising campaign and have their appointment extended to 30 minutes (otherwise, the 15 minutes are still free); on Friday and Saturday, the Frieda product company will kick in $2 to the campaign for each appointment. 

A week from this Sunday, salons up and down Newbury Street (and a few beyond) will take part in a cut-a-thon to raise money for Children's Hospital Boston. The event -- part of a campaign called HAIRraising organized by hair product mogul John Frieda and his longtime business partner, Gail Federici -- will feature $40-cuts at salons including James Joseph, Umi, Bradley & Diegel, and Avanti (both the Newbury Street and South Boston locations). Some of the salons (including James Joseph and Avanti) are accepting appointments; others (including Umi and Bradley & Diegel) are walk-in only that day.
