Fruit: Leave grapes on the vine until they are almost bursting.
Lawn: This is the time to overseed lawns. Make sure your grass mix is dated this year and includes at least half fecues and bluegrasses, the best grass types for our region. Use a shade mix if your lawn gets less than six hours of sun a day and overseed every fall.
Flower Gardens: Cut off any brown or tattered foliage and cut off dead flowers.
Vegetables: Pinch off the tops of tomato plants and their new flower buds to hasten the ripening of existing fruit. Plants seeds of mache, spinach, arugula and radish. Pinche off the tips of Brussels sprout plants and harvest them from the bottom up as they mature. Do not harvest winter squash or pumpkins until they attain their mature colorig or until after the first light frost.
