Event volunteers separated waste into compost, recycle, and landfill. Five years ago, the event was only recycling cardboard until a few dedicated team members took the initiative to sort the compost and recyclable material that ended up in the trash. They have reduced wasted by three-quarters and are looking to compost and recycle everything by next year.
