“This book received the Newbery Award in 2009 so we know it’s ‘the most distinguished contribution to American Literature for Children’ for that year,” wrote Salenikas. “The reader becomes invested in Bod’s life with it’s unique struggles and challenges and can’t help but root for a happy ending. Reading this book at this time of year is a treat for anyone, young or old.”
