SOMERVILLE COPY CAT FESTIVAL
Check out photos—and some of the featured cat videos—from the Somerville Copy Cat Festival which took place Sunday at the Center for the Arts at the Armory. The event was sponsored by the Somerville Arts Council.
Cat enthusiasts watched a slideshow of the cat videos during the festival.

Festival-goers watched a cat named Livvy Ferocia paw the air in the video “Jazz Hands" by Jamie Byrne.

"Animated Cats" by Erika Rew Hapke was another video at the festival.
Jef Czekaj, a Somerville cartoonist who served as emcee for the event, read from his book "Cat Secrets" onstage.
Yet another video enjoyed at the festival was Henri 5, "The Worst Noel" video by HenriLeChatNoir.
Teyah Suarez, 6, had her face painted like a cat at the festival.
The cat "Pellburn Jacoby Stealin' Home" made an appearance onstage.
Some cat lovers dressed up for the affair. (Left to right) Robert Smyth, Heather Balchunas, and Rachel Strutt attended the festival.
Another video at the festival was “Peanut Butter Breath Episode 2: Altar of the Death Cat” by Mike Shea.
Raphaella Plumb (left), 10, and Iris Evich, 11, hung pictures of their cats on a cat photo clothesline featured at the festival.
“Christmas Card” was submitted by Paul Villanova.
Steph Hammell put on cat ears she made at the festival.

Rachel Strutt, left, and intern Vera Vidal posed with Strutt’s cat, Coco. Strutt is the program manager for the Somerville Arts Council, which sponsored the Somerville Copy Cat Festival.
Strutt’s cat Coco sits atop a cabinet, one of her favorite spots.
