Couples tried for chance at $20K diamond ring

Saturday on Boston Common, couples vied for the chance at a $20,000 diamond engagement ring as part of the second Boston Diamond Dash. Set up as a scavenger hunt by SCVNGR, the couples received clues on their cell phones indicating locations that held the answers to the riddles. The couple that accumulated the most points won the ring. At left, the couples prepared for the race to begin with Craig Rottenberg, middle, president of Long's Jewelers who sponsored the event and the ring.
